Guide to Various Classification Systems for Buddhist Studies Materials

In this page we provide guides to different classification systems.  You can find guides relevant to library classification of Buddhist studies materials in these systems:
1. Library of Congress classification system;
2. special Buddhist classification systems developed in Taiwan with Buddhist materials focusing on the Han Chinese tradition, with planned specialist hierarchical keyword list ( [HTML] [PDF]);
3. "New classification scheme for Chinese libraries"（中國圖書分類法（賴永祥））, widely used in Taiwan and supported by the National Library.

佛圖法、李世傑《佛教圖書分類法》與中國圖書分類法（中圖法）比較

本頁及各連接頁內的分類法比較，出自《佛教圖書分類法1996年版》與各分類法之佛教類目比較分析一文，該文寫於2001年，國家圖書館於2003年底已公布中國圖書分類法各類目的新發展的討論稿，裡面有對佛教資料分類的新建議。

美國國會圖書館的佛教標題（Library of Congress subject headings for Buddhist studies）In this page you will see a

longer list of Library of Congress subject headings (LCSH) appropriate to Buddhist studies themes.  For some of the headings we have provided quick search links to ROC Union Catalog, so that you can see what books with these subject headings can be found in Taiwan's academic libraries.  The Chinese explanations you will find in the page are mostly on the workings of the LCSH system.
